As a follow up to the Maimonides classes, JET is offering a class on Monday, 7:30 PM at the Hillel House. Each class will cover one of the ten commandments and ends with the Jewish Unity Live event which celebrates the Jewish learning in the city of Ottawa. Dinner Served. A weekly discussion group given at Carleton University examining the weekly Torah portion. 12- 2 PM includes a nice Kosher Bagel Lunch! Location TBA After a long week in classes, who wants to sit through another boring class? Join JET for an in-depth look at Jewish philosophy and mysticism with the 1st round of beer on us! Meet the Campus Staff
Rabbi Shotkin Originally from Silver Spring, Maryland, Rabbi Micah Shotkin received his Masters Degree in Education from Adelphi University and his Rabbinic Ordination from the Rabbinical Seminary of America -Yeshiva Chofetz Chaim in New York. Rabbi Shotkin has experience across the wide spectrum of Jewish education, from Ganon Preschool to Advanced Medical Ethics. He currently teaches many of the JET classes and directs our Campus Outreach programs. Rabbi Shotkin attracts many people both to his many JET classes and to his Shabbos table through his open personality, beautiful music and his great sense of humour.
Josh Josh Margo from Montreal has worked on over 80 campuses across North America developing innovative and dynamic programs, classes and conferences for students and young adults. The last three years he worked as the Young Adult Program Coordinator for the Calgary Jewish Community Council. He currently works with both JETsetters and campus to bring new and exciting programs to the city of Ottawa. Josh brings his experience and enthusiasm along with his relaxed approach to Jewish outreach to help build campus life.
